Lefroy Exploration (ASX:LEX) said that mining of first ore from the North Pit of the Lucky Strike gold deposit in Western Australia is underway, with first ore intersected 17 meters below surface, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The company's mine profit share partner BML Ventures is building the run-of-mine ore stockpiles before the start of ore haulage, the filing said.
