Uber Technologies (UBER) and Lyft (LYFT) could potentially operate in Israel after a draft bill received approval from the country's Ministerial Committee for Legislative Affairs, according to a Google-translated text of the transport ministry's statement from Sunday.
The bill, which is yet to receive parliamentary approval, is intended to regulate the operation of collaborative transportation services in Israel, and will include safety regulations, driver screening, and appropriate insurance, the ministry said.
Uber and Lyft did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
