DAVOS: NATO Shouldn't Drop Ball on Ukraine War, Chief Says -- Market Talk

1018 GMT - The North Atlantic Treaty Organization shouldn't drop the ball on the war in Ukraine, as attention shifts toward Greenland's future, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte tells the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The European Union is finalizing a 90 billion-euro loan package to support Ukraine from spring. The continuing peace process shouldn't distract Europeans from the country's present and future needs, Rutte says. "What I'm really worrying about is that because of the peace process and because of the 90 billion [euros], we lose sight and that in the meantime the Ukrainians don't have enough interceptors, don't have enough of the American gear that they particularly need," he says. "This focus on Ukraine should be our number one priority and then we can discuss all the other issues, including Greenland, but it should be Ukraine first because it is crucial for our European and U.S. security."
