Another Military Contract Charge Stings Boeing's Results -- Market Talk

1014 ET - Boeing booked a roughly $600 million accounting charge last quarter to support its KC-46 refueling tanker contract with the U.S. Air Force, adding to the plane maker's already massive history of losses tied to fixed-price government programs. "It's just taken more resources to build the airplanes than we had anticipated," CEO Kelly Ortberg says during a CNBC interview, adding that the charge won't derail the company's turnaround. "This Department of War is very focused on on-time delivery and us investing in ramp-ups, and that's what we're doing here." (andrew.fitzgerald@wsj.com; @drewfitzgerald)
