MDA Space and Hanwha Systems plan to explore opportunities to work together on developing infrastructure for Korea's low-earth-orbit defense initiative.

Under the memorandum of understanding, the companies would assess how MDA's digital satellites can help Hanwha maximize efficiency and enable scalable satellite solutions for the defense program, the companies said Monday.

Korea's low-earth-orbit defense constellation is a national initiative that aims to strengthen defense capabilities and support secure communications and data services for national-security operations.
