Shares of Newmont (NEM) and Barrick Mining (B) and other gold miners rose in Monday's premarket hours as gold price hit a new record high of $5,100 per ounce.

According to data from GoldPrice.org, spot gold reached $5,109 per ounce early Monday.

Shares of Newmont and Agnico Eagle Mines (AEM) were up more than 4%; Kinross Gold (KGC) was 4% higher; Barrick was up more than 3%; and AngloGold Ashanti (AU) rose past 2%.
