Jan 30 (Reuters) - Singapore Airlines SIAL.SI said on Friday it has issued S$500 million ($394.35 million) in 2.70% notes due in 2036.

The city-state's national carrier said that the notes were issued in denominations of S$250,000 and bear interest at a fixed rate of 2.70% payable semi-annually on January 30 and July 30.

The notes would mature on January 30, 2036, and were issued under the company's S$10 billion multi-currency medium-term note programme, the firm said in its statement.

Proceeds would be used for aircraft purchases and related payments, and for general corporate or working capital purposes, including refinancing existing borrowings, the firm said last week.

DBS Group DBSM.SI, OCBC OCBC.SI, and United Overseas Bank UOBH.SI are the joint global coordinators for the issue and Standard Chartered Bank STAN.L is the joint lead manager.

Singapore Airlines said it had obtained approval in principle for the listing of the notes on the Singapore Exchange. The notes would be admitted to the official list of the stock exchange with effect from 9 a.m. on February 2.
