CMBC Capital (HKG:1141) said its wholly owned subsidiary CMBC Investment (HK) acquired about $11.5 million of subordinated guaranteed perpetual capital securities issued by Minmetals Capital & Securities, according to a Wednesday Hong Kong bourse filing.
Shares of the financial services firm were down nearly 4% in Thursday morning trade.
The notes, which carry an initial distribution rate of 4.35% per annum, are listed in Hong Kong and are guaranteed by China Minmetals Corporation.
CMBC Capital said the transaction was funded by internal resources and aimed at diversifying its investment portfolio and generating stable returns.
