Estrella Resources (ASX:ESR) found calcium carbonate mineralization during a recent drilling at its Werumata limestone project in Timor-Leste, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

The results include Baucau Limestone intersections up to 55 meters, having an average grade of 84% calcium carbonate, and the Batu Putih Chalk intersections up to 53 meters, with an average grade of 80% calcium carbonate.

Both the Baucau Limestone and Batu Putih chalk have very low concentrations of magnesium, confirming that they are low-magnesium limestones, the filing added.

The Werumata Limestone prospect contains limestone and chalk having potential for acid-neutralization uses and other uses, the company said.

The company added that the broad intersections are "highly encouraging" and "strongly" position the company towards its target of a JORC-compliant inferred mineral resource estimate of 500 million tonnes.
