MW Bad Bunny fails to produce stock market sizzle for two big European brands

By Steve Goldstein

Bad Bunny performs onstage during the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show at Levi's Stadium on February 08, 2026 in Santa Clara, California.

In a market where sometimes tenuous links spell big moves for stocks, the Super Bowl halftime performance from Bad Bunny failed to produce coattails.

Shares of Inditex (ES:ITX), the Spanish retailing giant, slipped 1% after the Puerto Rican star wore a custom suit from the company's Zara brand.

It wasn't a case of buying the rumor and selling the news, either, as Inditex shares are more or less flat on the year.

Much like a Super Bowl halftime show, Inditex shares are not cheap, trading at 28 times estimated 2026 earnings, according to FactSet.

The P/E for the broader State Street SPDR S&P Retail ETF XRT is just 16.

Adidas shares (XE:ADS) were higher, but by only 1%, after the performer wore the Adidas BadBo 1.0 shoes on stage.
