Amazon (AMZN) Fresh properties in London were acquired by Tesco, as it plans to reopen the sites as Express stores before the summer, Tesco said Monday.

The five locations situated in Hounslow, Moorgate, Wembley, Kensington High Street, and Aldgate East are part of a larger growth strategy, the company said.

Tesco expects to establish more than 70 smaller-format stores by March 2027, following the opening of 60 sites last year, it said.

New locations scheduled for 2026 include communities in East Lothian, County Tyrone, Torfaen, and Devon, Tesco said.
