NOVONIX (ASX:NVX) said the US Department of Commerce's final determinations in the antidumping and countervailing duty investigations covering anode active materials imported into the US from China represented an important step in promoting fair competition and strengthening domestic battery supply chains, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.

The tariffs applicable to anode active materials imported from China are subject to a final affirmative determination by the US International Trade Commission, which is expected in March.

Subject to the determination, an antidumping duty of 93.5% will be imposed on anode active materials imports from China from specified companies, and a duty of 102.72% will be imposed China-wide on all other exporters. A countervailing duty of between 66.82% and 66.86% will be imposed on all anode active materials imports from Chinese producers.

The firm's shares fell 3% in recent trading on Friday, reaching their lowest point in five years.
