Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings named John Chidsey, who has led restaurant chains Subway Restaurants and Burger King, as its next chief executive officer, effective Thursday.
Chidsey, age 62, succeeds Harry Sommer, who is stepping down as president and CEO and from the company's board, as part of a strategic leadership change.
Chidsey most recently served as CEO of the sandwich chain Subway, and previously held the same role at Burger King. He served on Norwegian Cruise Line's board from 2013 to 2022 and was again appointed last February.
Norwegian Cruise Line touted Chidsey's track record leading large, global, consumer-facing companies through strategic and operational transformation.
The company added that it expects its fourth-quarter net yield to be around the midpoint of its previous disclosed range. It also expects its core quarterly and full year results to be in line with previously issued guidance.
It plans to release quarterly earnings on March 2.
