** Shares of Australia's Whitehaven Coal WHC.AX drop 9.4% in the week, on track to record its worst since late-March 2025, if trend holds

** Australia's top independent coal miner swung to a surprise HY underlying net loss after tax of A$19 million ($13.36 million) on Thursday, vs Visible Alpha consensus estimate of a profit of A$16 million

** WHC down 2.9% on Friday at A$7.8

** Stock has risen 0.7% this year, including day's moves
