Airbus's Guidance Is Soft -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
02/19

0703 GMT - Airbus's commercial aircraft delivery goal and cash flow targets for the year are soft, RBC Capital Markets analysts write in a note to clients. The European plane maker is forecasting roughly 870 plane deliveries this year compared with 793 it dispatched last year. Airbus is grappling with a significant shortage of Pratt & Whitney engines that is weighing on guidance and production of A320 jets. Free cash flow before customer financing--a closely watched metric by analysts and investors--is projected at around 4.5 billion euros, pretty much flat on year. The analysts say that target could be an issue for investors as Airbus expects to deliver more aircraft and grow adjusted EBIT by about 500 million euros without expanding cash flow.
