Urban Outfitters recorded higher fourth-quarter sales, driven by its namesake brand.

The apparel company on Wednesday posted a profit of $96.3 million, or $1.05 a share, in the quarter ended Jan. 31, compared with $120.3 million, or $1.28 a share, a year earlier.

Stripping out certain one-time items, adjusted per-share earnings were $1.43, ahead of the $1.26 anticipated by analysts, according to FactSet.

Revenue rose 10% to $1.8 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet forecast revenue of $1.79 billion.

Comparable same-store sales rose 5.5%, above the 5% growth Wall Street was estimating. Retail sales were driven by positive growth in both digital and brick-and-mortar stores, Urban Outfitters said.

The company's namesake brand led sales with 9.6% same-store sales growth, while Free People recorded 5.2% growth and Anthropologie had 3.7% growth.
