TransAlta 4Q Loss Narrows, Revenue Falls

TransAlta logged a narrowed loss in the fourth quarter while revenue fell.

The Calgary, Alberta-based power‑generation company on Friday posted slightly narrowed net loss of 62 million Canadian dollars ($45.3 million), or C$0.21 a share, compared with C$65 million, or C$0.22 a share, in the comparable quarter a year ago.

Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization fell to C$247 million from $282 million.

Revenue fell to C$599 million from C$678 million.

Production rose to 6,725 gigawatt-hours from 6,199 gigawatt-hours.

The company's dividend was increased by 8% to C$0.28 a share on an annualized basis.

For 2026, TransAlta expects adjusted Ebitda of C$950 million to C$1.05 billion, with free cash flow of C$350 million to C$450 million.
