Equinor (EQNR) said Monday that it, along with its partners, made a commercial oil discovery in the Snorre area in the North Sea, with plans for a "rapid and cost-effective" development.
The company said the drill well has confirmed hydrocarbons and preliminary volume is estimated at 25 million to 89 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalents.
Equinor's Equinor Energy is the project operator, with a 31% stake, according to the statement.
