Hindustan Zinc (NSE:HINDZINC, BOM:500188) has signed a memorandum of understanding with research university Virginia Tech to advance research focused on improving silver recovery across its lead-zinc concentrators, according to a Thursday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.
Through the partnership, the two parties will focus on scientific studies to find ways to refine flotation methods and optimize the use of reagents, supporting better concentrate quality and more efficient plant operations.
It will help to enhance silver recovery across Hindustan Zinc's Pb-Zn concentrators, the filing said.
This research will help the company to shape both short-term and long-term strategies, supported by diagnostics, laboratory evaluations, and technical assessments designed for practical implementation across operations.
The Zinc and silver producer's shares were up over 1% in recent trade.
