Stock futures were modestly lower Thursday as investors tried to make sense of mixed messages about peace talks between the U.S. and Iran.

These stocks were making moves in premarket trading:

Broadcom rose 6.9% after the chip maker and software company reported better-than-expected earnings for its fiscal first quarter as revenue for the all-important semiconductor solutions segment jumped 65% from a year ago to $12.5 billion. Broadcom guided for second-quarter revenue of about $22 billion, beating analysts' consensus calls.

Trade Desk rallied 19%, making it the S&P 500's top performer ahead of the opening bell. OpenAI held early talks about growing its advertising business with Trade Desk, the Information reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. OpenAI and Trade Desk didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from Barron's.

Veeva Systems jumped 11% after the life sciences cloud solutions provider topped Wall Street's earnings and revenue targets for the fiscal fourth quarter. Veeva has taken a battering as part of the brutal software selloff in recent week but the results could give the stock a much-needed boost.

Rigetti Computing dropped 3.5% after the quantum-computing company posted weaker-than-expected revenue for the fourth quarter. Investors are wondering if Rigetti can deliver revenue growth and eventually turn a profit. The company reported an adjusted loss of 3 cents a share for the period, matching analysts' forecasts.

JD.com slipped 0.9% after the Chinese online retailer reported a plunge in its fourth-quarter profit despite increasing revenue. JD and its rivals Alibaba and Meituan have been locked in an e-commerce price war that has dragged down margins across the sector.

StubHub slumped 11% after the ticketing company said it would prioritize using AI to build a supply-management platform rather than immediate revenue growth. StubHub also reported a wider loss than expected for the fourth quarter.

BJ's Wholesale Club, Burlington Stores, Ciena, Kroger, Costco Wholesale, Gap, Guidewire Software, Marvell Technology, and Samsara are scheduled to report earnings Thursday.
