STMicroelectronics (STM) said Thursday that it launched a new series of entry-level microcontrollers to boost the performance of smaller smart devices embedded in factories, homes, cities, and infrastructures.

The new STM32C5 series is designed for both consumer and professional devices, including smart thermostats, electronic door locks, sensors, wearable electronics, and computer peripherals, the company said.
