1257 ET - Hotels are feeling the spending divide between America's higher and lower income consumers, JPMorgan analysts say in a research note. As affluent households continue to spend on travel and leisure, pressured middle and low-income consumers are holding back, the analysts say. But lower-income spending is starting to rebound, and the analysts expect to see industry growth boosted by strong high-end earners and recovering lower-income households. "It's starting to feel like demand is beginning to really improve, that those green shoots are beginning to come," Wyndham CEO Geoffrey Ballotti told analysts. (amira.mckee@wsj.com)
