Vera Bradley Swings to 4Q Profit, Taps Exec Chair for CEO -- Update

Vera Bradley swung to a fourth-quarter profit, which it said reflected meaningful progress in its business transformation, and appointed its executive chairman as CEO.

The company on Thursday reported net income of $2.66 million, or 9 cents a share, compared with a loss of $47 million, or $1.69 a share, the year prior.

Revenue fell to $84.9 million from $86.4 million.

The company guided for fiscal 2027 revenue of $255 million to $270 million.

Vera Bradley also appointed Ian Bickley, who has served as executive chairman for the past eight months, as its new chief executive. It named Chief Financial Officer Martin Layding as chief operating and financial officer.

"We are seeing encouraging signs of stabilization," Bickley said.

Shares jumped 38% to $3.44.
