Signet Jewelers Expects to Report 4Q Sales Decline

Signet Jewelers expects to report a decline in fourth-quarter same-store sales, according to its preliminary results.

The company said it sees fourth-quarter same-store sales declining 0.7% to 0.9% year-over year and total sales of $2.34 billion to $2.35 billion. TThe company said it saw positive comparable sales growth across peak holiday selling days.

Analysts polled by FactSet expect a same-store sales decline of 0.4% and sales of $2.34 billion.

Signet said it expects fourth-quarter merchandise average unit retail to be up 4% to 5% and adjusted operating income to be $322 million to $327 million.
