Prudential Financial (PRU) said late Tuesday its board has appointed Chief Executive Officer Andrew Sullivan to the additional role of chairman, effective March 10.

Sullivan succeeds Charles Lowrey, who stepped down as executive chairman and director on March 10, the company said. Lowrey will remain with the firm as a senior adviser through the end of Q2.
