Financial stocks were declining premarket Tuesday, with the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) down 0.3%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was 0.7% lower and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was up 1.2%.

BBVA is close to selling its Garanti unit in Romania to Raiffeisen Bank International in a deal valued at about 550 euros ($640 million), Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter. BBVA shares were up 0.8% pre-bell.
