Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise in Friday Trading

Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were tracking higher Friday morning, rising 0.91% to 2,686.68 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index, which is up 0.77% for the week.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by semiconductor company Himax Technologies (HIMX) and tech conglomerate Xunlei (XNET), which climbed 12% and 8.3% respectively. They were followed by online game developer The9 (NCTY) and game live-streaming service HUYA (HUYA), which advanced 7.2% and 6.5% respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by liquid thin-film display maker LG Display (LPL) and healthcare platform 111 (YI), which fell 2.1% and 2% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Zai Lab (ZLAB) and automotive company Honda Motor (HMC), which were down 0.9% and 0.6% respectively.

From South Asia, the only gainers were tech conglomerate Sea (SE) and IT firm Infosys (INFY), which rose 1.9% and 0.9% respectively.

The decliners from South Asia were led by IT firm Wipro (WIT) and pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which dropped 1.3% each. They were followed by IT company Sify Technologies (SIFY) and lender HDFC Bank (HDB), which lost 0.7% and 0.4% respectively.
