Seasonally Adjusted Filled Jobs in Australia Climb 0.4% in December 2025 Quarter

The number of seasonally adjusted filled jobs in Australia rose 0.4% to 16.1 million in the December 2025 quarter, following a 0.7% increase in the September 2025 quarter, according to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics on Friday.

Filled jobs, on a seasonally adjusted basis, increased in 14 of the 19 industries, with construction seeing the highest increase, climbing 0.9%.

Total jobs rose 0.3% to 16.4 million, and job vacancies decreased 1.5% to 326,500, while secondary jobs increased 0.4% to 1.1 million in the three months ended Dec. 31.

The number of employed people increased by 0.7% to 15 million in the December 2025 quarter, while the number of multiple job-holders rose 0.4% to 976,400.

Average income per employed person rose 0.4% to AU$25,648.10, while hours actually worked increased 0.7% to 6.05 billion hours.

On an annual basis, filled jobs rose 1.3% in the December 2025 quarter. Total jobs increased 1.2%, while job vacancies declined 5%.

The final data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics was unchanged from the preliminary figures.
