Coles Group (ASX:COL), Virgin Australia Holdings (ASX:VGN), and Qantas Airways (ASX:QAN) warned of higher prices due to the increase in prices because of the war in the Middle East, the Australian Financial Review (AFR) reported Friday.

Coles said it would be forced to increase the price of groceries due to the rising cost of transporting food. Coles said it was "increasing the frequency that we review the fuel component of our freight rates from monthly to twice per month."

Virgin Australia said airfares would have to rise around 5% to make up for higher costs. Qantas said that it would review airfares more frequently due to the increasing cost of fuel. Qantas increased its international airfares by 5%.
