Immutep (ASX:IMM) completed the single ascending dose portion of its first-in-human phase one study evaluating its IMP761 therapy candidate, with dosing up to 14 milligrams per kilogram, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

The therapy candidate was well tolerated across all dose levels, and no safety concerns or dose-limiting toxicities were observed. The study is currently progressing in the multiple ascending dose portion, which is expected to be completed in the September quarter. This portion is evaluating the pharmacokinetics and safety of IMP761 across two dose levels.

IMP761 is a LAG-3 agonist antibody that enhances the physiological inhibitory function of LAG-3 on T-cell receptor signaling, potentially suppressing pathogenic T-cell responses in autoimmune diseases.

Its shares jumped 5% in recent trading on Thursday.
