GE Vernova (GEV) and Hitachi's joint venture is slated to build small modular nuclear reactor plants and natural gas generation facilities in the US as part of investment deals between the US and Japan, the White House said Thursday.

President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said in a White House meeting that the joint venture plans to spend up to $40 billion for the nuclear projects and up to $33 billion for natural gas.

Under a new memorandum of understanding, Nvidia (NVDA), the US Argonne National Laboratory, and Japan's RIKEN and Fujitsu will collaborate on computing architectures and solutions, the White House said.
