Cboe Global Markets filed a proposal to extend trading hours on its equities and options exchange EDGX.
The markets operator said Monday it plans to make all listed NMS stocks available for trading on EDGX from Sunday at 9 p.m. ET to Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
It plans to have a one-hour operational pause from 8 p.m. ET to 9 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday.
Cboe currently offers trading from 4 a.m. ET to 7 a.m. ET on two of its four exchanges, including EDGX.
Demand for U.S. equities outside traditional trading hours has increased in recent years, Cboe said. The company has logged a nearly sevenfold increase in average daily volume growth from February 2022 to February 2026.
Cboe already operates around-the-clock trading through its proprietary index futures and options, and its Global FX markets.
