NTT Inc.'s (TYO:9432) NTT Global Data Centers unit aims to double its capacity to four gigawatts within two years, with plans to exceed five gigawatts in five years, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday, citing Chief Executive Officer Doug Adams.
The world's third-largest data center provider outside China is accelerating its expansion to meet surging demand driven by the AI boom, which has increased cloud adoption and the businesses seeking capacity for AI programs, the news wire said.
The unit's revenue, which grew 30% to $2.4 billion in the last fiscal year ended March 2025, is expected to maintain over 20% annual growth going forward, the publication said.
