Petrobras (PBR) said Wednesday it has discovered a new natural gas deposit at the Copoazu-1 exploratory well in deep waters offshore Colombia.

The well is located about 36 kilometers off the coast at a depth of 964 meters, the company said. Identified through electric logs and fluid sampling, the discovery confirms gas in multiple objectives and strengthens the region's potential as a major gas province, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Drilling began on Nov. 11, 2025, and is continuing safely, with environmental and operational safeguards in place, the company said.
