Apple (AAPL) has acquired MotionVFX, a company known for its plugins and add-ons for Apple's video editing software Final Cut Pro, MotionVFX said Monday.

MotionVFX said in a statement on its website that it is "joining the Apple team to continue to empower creators and editors to do their best work."

Financial and other details of the acquisition were not provided.

Apple confirmed the acquisition when contacted by MT Newswires but gave no additional details.
