Dorian LPG (LPG) said Friday it took delivery of a new 93,000-cubic-meter dual-fuel gas carrier from South Korean shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean Heavy Industries.
The vessel will begin operations under a jointly controlled pool and increase the company's proportion of alternative-fuel ships to more than 20% of its total fleet, the company said.
The newly built ship is equipped with a hybrid scrubber and an engine capable of running on liquefied petroleum gas to reduce carbon and sulfur emissions, Dorian LPG said.
The company also said it secured a $62.9 million loan facility from Citigroup's (C) Citibank Hong Kong and Nordea to fund the final delivery payment and associated expenses.
