China's drug regulator granted Shanghai Kehua Bio-Engineering (SHE:002022) a medical device registration certificate for its real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction instrument, according to a Tuesday filing with the Shenzhen bourse.

The instrument helps detect target nucleic acids in human samples, including pathogen and human gene detection projects, the filing said.

Shares jumped 5% during afternoon trading on Tuesday.
