NETGEAR (NTGR) shares were 16% higher pre-bell Tuesday after the Federal Communications Commission banned the import of all new foreign-made consumer routers.
The regulator said the administration determined that routers produced abroad could pose supply-chain vulnerabilities and a "severe cybersecurity risk."
China is estimated to control at least 60% of the US market for consumer-grade routers, according to Reuters.
