** Australian tech stocks .AXIJ fall as much as 1.5%, their lowest level since mid-May 2023

** Wall Street indexes lost ground overnight as investors swayed between fears of rising oil prices and hopes for a resolution to the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran .N

** Shares of tech firms WiseTech Global WTC.AX, Xero XRO.AX down 1.8% and 3%, respectively

** The sub-index has fallen 26.9% this year, including day's moves
