Qantas Airways' (ASX:QAN) Jetstar is reducing flights between Australia and New Zealand in May in response to increasing jet fuel cost stemming from the Middle East conflict, impacting 12% of the services on some routes between Auckland and Sydney, and Auckland and Brisbane, according to multiple media reports on Wednesday.
Services between Auckland and Christchurch, as well as between Auckland and Wellington will also be cut, ABC News said in its report.
The airline reportedly added that impacted passengers were contacted, and most have been offered same-day travel.
Qantas Airways' shares jumped almost 5% in recent Wednesday trade.
