Air New Zealand (ASX:AIZ, NZE:AIR) secured the renewal of its partnership with Air China through 2031, ensuring continued direct flights, stronger tourism links, and expanded trade between New Zealand and China, according to a Monday statement.
The alliance has welcomed over 480,000 visitors from Beijing and Shanghai since 2015, generating around NZ$3 billion, including NZ$379 million from 56,000 visitors in 2025.
It provides up to 17 weekly return flights during peak periods, access to over 30 destinations in China through Air China's network, and smooth connections across New Zealand via the company's domestic routes.
The company's Australian shares fell around 1% in recent Monday trade, while New Zealand shares dropped over 2%.
