The value of new payments platform transactions in Australia rose past 25% year over year to AU$236.1 billion in February, according to new retail payment figures from the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) released Tuesday.
Total card purchases on Australian-issued cards was up 8.5% to AU$97.7 billion, with credit and charge cards accounting for AU$39.7 billion and debit cards for AU$58 billion.
Meanwhile, the number of new payments platform transactions was up more than 11% year over year to 166 million.
The number of total card purchases on Australian-issued cards rose 5% annually to 1.39 billion.
