Energy Fuels named Ross Bhappu as chief executive.

Bhappu succeeds Mark Chalmers, who is retiring after more than eight years in the role, the rare-earth mineral company said Wednesday.

Bhappu, who has been president since August, has been working closely with Chalmers for the past several months in anticipation of the transition.

Following his retirement, Chalmers has agreed to serve as a consultant for a two-year period.
