Nvidia Stock Is Having a Great April (Just Not for a Chip Maker) -- WSJ

Life coaches and first-grade teachers say not to compare yourself to others. By those standards Nvidia is doing great.

Before shares started to slip Thursday afternoon, the chip maker was poised to clock a 12-day winning streak, its longest on record (going back to 1999). The 20% gain during that run looks pretty good except in the context of Broadcom's 35% rise over the past 12 sessions or Intel's 58% rise.

Nvidia tends to benefit from broader market enthusiasm: its stock has moved the same direction as the Nasdaq Composite 60 out of 73 trading days this year. On Thursday though, the glow was wearing off, with shares down about 0.3% heading toward the close. Intel, Broadcom and the Nasdaq, meanwhile, were still climbing.
