Vale (VALE) Vale said Friday that its Q1 iron ore production totaled 69.7 million metric tons, up 3% from a year earlier, iron ore sales increased 4%, totalling 68.7 million metric tons.

Pellet production reached 8.2 million metric tons, up 14% year on year, the mining company said.

Copper production totaled 102,300 metric tons, 13% higher than a year earlier, while nickel production totaled 49,300 metric tons, up 12%, the company said.
