Phibro Animal Health (PAHC) expects limited impact on its fiscal 2026 results following the implementation of new rules prohibiting certain antimicrobial feed additives in Brazil, the company said Monday.
The country has banned the import, manufacture, marketing, and use of antimicrobial feed additives that are also important in human or veterinary medicine, including virginiamycin and bacitracin. The regulation will take effect after a 180-day transition period.
The company said it is in the final stages of regulatory review and approval for virginiamycin for therapeutic use in cattle and broiler chickens, while its bacitracin product already has therapeutic claims in Brazil.
