Ecolab (ECL) said Wednesday that it has opened a new bioprocessing applications lab in Dongtan, Korea -- its first such facility in Asia.

The facility supports a full range of process development activities, from early-stage testing through studies that replicate manufacturing at scale, the company said. It also enables close collaboration with Ecolab experts to improve purification, boost efficiency, and help bring products to commercial readiness, the company said.

Shares of Ecolab fell past 3% in the session.
