1404 ET - Three voters dissented against the Fed's April policy statement because they blanched at even the suggestion that the Fed's next move is likely to be another rate cut. The opposition of Beth Hammack, Lorie Logan and Neel Kashkari suggests entrenched opposition on the committee to merely considering bringing rates lower. The contentious vote is a preview of what Fed chair nominee Kevin Warsh might be up against if he tries to cut rates early in his tenure. The Fed's next meeting, in June, is likely to be Warsh's first as chair. (matt.grossman@wsj.com; @mattgrossman)
