Shares of LivaNova climbed after the medical-technology company raised its outlook for the year.

The stock rose 17% to $67.17 on Wednesday, extending its more than 54% run over the past year.

LivaNova now expects full-year revenue to increase 7% to 8%, up from previous guidance for 6%-to-7% growth. It also raised its outlook for adjusted per-share earnings to between $4.20 and $4.30 from its prior range of $4.15 to $4.25.

The higher outlook came after first-quarter results were higher than anticipated. Adjusted earnings came in at 98 cents a share, ahead of the 91 cents a share that analysts polled by FactSet were looking for.

Revenue grew 14% to $362.3 million and topped Wall Street models for $345.7 million.
