Pop Mart Seen Facing Earnings Risk as Demand Softens -- Market Talk

0058 GMT - Pop Mart earnings are likely to come under pressure in 2026 amid weakening demand for its collectible toy franchises, or IPs, in China and slowing overseas sales, says Sammi Xu at Deutsche Bank. The analyst cites softer secondary-market prices for the recently launched The Monsters and Twinkle Twinkle toys. Rising inventory levels also suggest potential overstocking and clearance risks for the company behind the Labubu franchise, Xu says in a note. Deutsche Bank forecasts 2026 adjusted net profit at CNY11.5 billion, 24% below consensus. It maintains a sell rating and cuts the target price to 140 Hong Kong dollars from HK$157. Shares last closed at HK$162.20. (venkat.pr@wsj.com)
